Consultancies that fail to adapt to an AI-first world will not survive. Customers are self-enabling, delivery timeframes keep shrinking, and fixed price is becoming the default expectation. None of that is survivable while consultants still spend their week transcribing workshop notes into requirements, rewriting the same patterns, generating test data and chasing reviews. Agents can absorb that work if you build a pipeline rather than prompt one task at a time, and the payoff is not just cost: it is consistency, speed, and being able to quote a fixed price without padding it. What it hands back is the part customers were always buying and still cannot get from a chatbot: someone who knows their business well enough to ask the right question in the workshop, judgment about what not to build, and a name against the outcome at go-live.
