Multi-currency in Business Central looks simple from a distance: set exchange rates, post transactions, done. But anyone who has implemented it knows there’s more going on under the hood. In this session, I’ll walk through what really happens when currencies come into play — how Business Central revalues existing entries when exchange rates change, when adjustments are created, and how the results flow into the general ledger. We’ll focus on understanding the behaviour rather than just running the process, so the mechanics make sense instead of feeling like a black box.

We’ll also look at the newer G/L account revaluation capability introduced in recent versions. It brings source currency amounts into the general ledger and allows G/L accounts to be revalued directly — useful, but only when you understand the impact it has on posting and reporting. I’ll explain how it works, where it fits, and what to be aware of before enabling it in a production environment.
