Avoiding a $1 million Lawsuit: Aim for a Higher Standard of Project Management

15:00 - 15:45 Agave 6 Back to event schedule

We've been asked for advice related to two large, failed ERP implementations that have led to million dollar lawsuits. What started out with well-intentioned ambitious implementations turned into disorganized, impossible projects, resulting in very unhappy customers.

In this session, we'll share what we've learned from the lawsuits, and our recommendations on improving projects, including sales promises, project processes, legal documents, "best practices", technical debt, and being honest about your capabilities and limitations. We are not lawyers, but we'll share what we observed in the lawsuits, as well as the practices and discipline required for a partner to protect themselves.

Learning Objectives:

• Avoiding early mistakes in the engagement
• Why contracts and lawyers matter
• Simple steps to protect your practice
• Daily practices and consistent disciplines to reduce risks
