If You Can't Make It Fast, Make It Feel Fast

There's a lot of guidance out there on writing high-performance AL code—and for good reason. Optimizing for speed should always be the first priority.

But sometimes, no matter how well the code is written, an operation simply takes time. Large data volumes, complex processes, or external dependencies can make certain tasks inherently slow.

This is where perception of performance becomes just as important as actual performance.

This session focuses on how to maintain a responsive and user-friendly experience, even when heavy work is happening in the background. Techniques will be covered that allow long-running operations to be handled without blocking the user interface, helping users stay productive and engaged.

Key concepts and practical approaches for offloading processing and improving perceived performance will be explained, providing a foundation for building smoother, more responsive Business Central solutions.
