Sometimes projects turn to a partner’s nightmare – contradictory requirements across departments, exceptions and manual workarounds repeatedly surfacing, process owners focused on their little gardens and management not able to (or avoiding to) get involved. Management support is a key success driver for an ERP implementation, but it is often unachievable at the operational level due to unfamiliarity with details, time constraints and sometimes also lack of confidence. Up to now, colorful steering committee presentations and smooth-talking project managers were usually partner’s best bet to keep management involved and to mitigate related project risks. But Power BI can be a true game changer and an important contribution to the Business Central toolset. Power BI dashboards, available early during project implementation, allow customer managers to consume Business Central data as soon as initial test transactions are posted. Power BI dashboards are essential to build holistic overview of the project and provide insights into master data, (test) transactions and even migration data. Having BC data at the management’s fingertips will allow the project manager to pinpoint implementation challenges and direct the customer’s management to resolve them. During the session we will discuss typical scenarios where Power Bi can be essential to engage management during the Business Central implementations and how partners can leverage Power BI to mitigate project risks.
